The Town Ranch

The Town Ranch

Seekers can hold animals who provide them with different food and resources which can be used to prepare meals or craft various items. As the ranch is located inside the Town, the Seeker is required to be in the town as well in order to manage their animals. The Ranch can be accessed through the Town Center.

There are 5 different animals, each with their own unique abilities:

All animals require to be fed on a daily basis, which takes 1 Stamina per animal on the ranch. The Seeker can also hire the follower "Porkard the Pig Tenderer" who will tend to the animals. When an animal doesn't get fed regularly, it will starve to death. Animals don't require any special food. They eat mostly grass which is free. Pigs can be fed with corn to hasten their fattening.

The Animal Attitude Skills increase by feeding and handling the animals. A higher Animal Attitude results in better yields and less stamina required to do animals jobs. In addition, a higher Animal Attitude increased the chance that animals live longer than their expected lifespan.

Expected Lifespan:

When an animal reaches its fixed lifespan during the Daily Reset, it will die of old age. When this happens, the animal is removed from the ranch, and the Seeker receives nothing in return. Slaughter the animal before it reaches its expected lifespan to avoid this. Each point in the Animal Attitude Skill increases the chance by 0.33% that the animal will survive another day beyond its expected lifespan.

Animal Abilities:

Each type of animal possesses a unique ability that the Seeker can make use of. See below for detailed information about each animal. Seekers can either perform the tasks themselves or post a job offer at the town’s Labor Hall.

Slaughter an Animal:

The animals can be slaughtered by the Seeker at any given time. This requires 30 Stamina (minus a reduction based on the Animal Attitude Skill) and a Butcher Knife must be equipped. The animal owner will receive the meat (or poultry) in their inventory.

Animal Breeding:

All animals are produced by the town in their Breeding program. Each town has a Councillor who's responsible for the production of sufficient animals. A town without a breeding program will run out of animals to sell to the citizens. Seekers can improve their Animal Attitude Skill by helping the town with their Breeding Program in the Labor hall in exchange for a wage.

Ranch Expansions:

Seekers begin with a fenced area to house an animal but they construct additional ranch slots. The ranch can be expanded in order to hold more animals at the same time with a maximum of 9 ranch slots. The required Iron Nails and Wood increase with each additional ranch slot constructed.

Demolish your Ranch Expansions:

Since December 2016 it is possible to demolish your Ranch Expansions. This is particularly handy when you decide to another town. Demolishing a Ranch Expansion returns between 25% and 75% of the Wood and Iron Nails previously used. The amount depends on the Sustaining Skill of the Seeker and the amount of stamina (1 stamina adds 1%) used for demolishing.

Salvation % (maximum 75%):
 + 25% base
+ 0.5% for each point on the Sustaining Skill
+ 1% for each stamina spend

Hints:

  • When completing the Tutorial Quest "The Scrawny Chicken" Seekers receive 60 Iron Nails and 40 Wood to expand their ranch.
